How long does a PVC window last?

Does PVC yellow over time?

Modern Salamander profiles contain UV-stabilising additives that prevent yellowing for decades. Coloured and wood-effect finishes retain their original colour thanks to resistant acrylic films.

Does PVC insulate better than aluminium?

Yes, PVC is naturally more insulating than aluminium. Aluminium is a good thermal conductor, whereas PVC is an insulator: with the same glazing, a PVC window has a lower transmittance. Thermally broken aluminium closes part of the gap but remains more expensive.

Can PVC windows be supplied for a renovation?

Yes, we supply windows for both new builds and renovations. We guide you through taking exact measurements and choosing the right window for each opening; removal of the old window and installation of the new one are handled by your trusted installer.
